About Blackpoint
Accounting

Many small businesses and nonprofits can’t afford full-time accounting staff—and the leaders running them are already stretched thin. Financial management becomes yet another burden on an already full plate. That’s where we come in.

Blackpoint Accounting helps small businesses and nonprofits—especially Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) like HOSA, FCCLA, and TSA—stay organized, compliant, and financially healthy. We’re proud to be the only accounting vendor approved by the HOSA, Inc. Board of Directors, a reflection of our deep experience supporting CTSOs nationwide.

We understand the challenges nonprofit leaders face: complex grant requirements, shifting reporting needs, tight budgets, and audit pressures. Our job is to take the weight of financial management off your shoulders, so you can focus on the mission that matters most.

Think of us as your behind-the-scenes financial partner. We handle the work that keeps your organization running smoothly: bookkeeping, payroll, grant tracking, invoicing, budgeting, and audit prep. We also coordinate with trusted partners to make sure your tax filings are accurate and on time.

At Blackpoint, we take a personal approach. We get to know your goals, understand your operations, and tailor our services to fit. No canned advice or confusing jargon—just practical guidance, quick responses, and a team that genuinely cares about your success.

Whether you’re just getting started, managing growth, or prepping for your next big event, we’ll help keep your finances clear and your path forward even clearer.

Let’s take this off your plate. You don’t have to manage it alone.

Q&A

  •  We work with two main groups of clients:

Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) — including HOSA, FCCLA, TSA, and others. We understand the structure and reporting needs of these organizations and are the only accounting vendor approved by the HOSA, Inc. Board of Directors.

Small business owners — especially franchise owners, such as Crumbl franchisees and other service-based businesses. We provide full accounting and payroll support so you can focus on growing your business.

  • Yes—nonprofit accounting is one of our core specialties. We understand how to manage grant tracking, fund accounting, board reporting, 990 preparation, and compliance. We also know that nonprofit leaders wear many hats, so we focus on making the financial side simple, accurate, and audit-ready.

  • Yes—this is a primary focus of our firm. We have deep experience supporting CTSOs at the state level, and we are the only accounting vendor approved by the HOSA, Inc. Board of Directors. We know the unique operational and compliance needs of CTSOs, and we tailor our services accordingly.

  • We provide both. For businesses, we offer business tax preparation and filing through trusted CPA partners. For nonprofits, we handle IRS Form 990 and required state compliance filings. Our goal is to ensure that your books are clean and your tax filings are accurate and stress-free.

  • We use encrypted, cloud-based accounting tools (QuickBooks Online and secure file-sharing systems). Access is restricted to authorized team members, and we follow strict internal protocols to protect your data. We take this responsibility seriously—many of our clients are handling sensitive grant, donor, and member funds.

  • Absolutely. Many clients come to us after things have gotten behind or disorganized—especially after leadership changes or rapid growth. We take a no-judgment approach: we’ll assess what needs to be done, clean up the records, and put solid systems in place so you’re positioned for success going forward.

  • We primarily use QuickBooks Online. It offers excellent nonprofit and business accounting features and integrates well with other systems. For CTSOs, we ensure full reconciliation between QuickBooks and systems like HOSA CMS or your specific membership/registration platforms.

  • Yes. We frequently help new clients set up QuickBooks properly or clean up an existing file that isn’t configured well. We’ll structure it in a way that matches your organization's needs, so your reporting and day-to-day work are as easy and accurate as possible.

  • We provide monthly financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and any additional reports your board, leadership, or franchise requires). We also provide budget monitoring and custom reports as needed—especially for grant tracking and audit preparation.

  • Yes. Many of our CTSO clients primarily pay 1099 contractors (such as state advisors, board hires, and event staff). We fully manage that process, including year-end 1099 preparation and filing. We also provide W-2 payroll services if your organization or business has employees.

  • Of course. We often collaborate with tax preparers, external CPAs, and auditors. Whether you already have trusted partners or need referrals, we’re happy to coordinate and ensure everyone has the clean, accurate data they need.

  • We specialize in serving CTSOs and small business owners who don’t have the time or staff for full-time financial management—but who need things done right. We provide personal, responsive service, tailored to your specific organization and goals. We speak your language—no jargon—and we truly care about your success. We also understand the nonprofit board environment and the fast-paced nature of franchise businesses, and we tailor our work accordingly.

  • Same day. We take pride in being highly responsive—that’s one of our core values at Blackpoint. You can expect to hear back from us the same business day, and we prioritize urgent items to ensure you’re never left waiting when something is time-sensitive. You’ll always know we’re here and ready to help.

  • Yes. We help many clients with budget development, budget monitoring, cash flow forecasting, and related financial planning. For CTSOs, this often includes preparing budget reports for board approval and grant compliance. For small businesses, it may include scenario planning and growth modeling.

  • No worries—we’re here to help, not judge. Many clients come to us with books that need cleanup or deadlines that have slipped (990 filings, payroll filings, grant reports, or internal board reports). We’ll work with you to get everything caught up and back on track. Our goal is always to meet you where you are and help you move forward confidently.
